Taperloc® Hip System

Mid Florida Ortho

The Taperloc® Hip System from Biomet has led the competition in design and longevity for over 20 years. Joint replacement implants are not one-size fits all. You are unique, and your joint implant should be able to accommodate your individual anatomy regardless of stature or gender.

The Taperloc® Hip System offers three stem options to properly address an individual femoral canal:

Taperloc® Hip Stem
Taperloc® Reduced Distal Stem
Taperloc® Microplasty™ Stem

Unlike other hip stems of its type, the Taperloc® Hip is the only system to offer additional stem design options for better implant-to-bone match. This may help the implant last longer and reduce the potential for painful implant loosening.

Clinically Proven

Surgeons consider many individual variables before determining the best type of implant for you, such as age, height, weight, activity level, medical condition, and much more. The Taperloc® hip's outstanding long-term survivorship has been the subject of numerous studies. Several published studies display the implant's proven technology and time-tested design:

Long Term (22 years)
Large group (4,750 patients)
Taperloc in the very young (Avg. age 37)
Taperloc in Octogenarians (patients aged over 80)
Taperloc and Immediate Weight Bearing

The Taperloc® Hip System is just one option available to you and your orthopedic surgeon. If you have questions regarding the Taperloc® Hip System, please speak with your orthopedic surgeon.

Only an orthopedic surgeon can determine what treatment is appropriate. Individual results of total joint replacement may vary. The life of any implant will depend on your weight, age, activity level, and other factors (see patient risk information above).
